A boy (16) from the Omusati region who rescued toddler twins from drowning has been offered professional lifeguard training and future employment opportunities following his actions. Kornelius Shimwafeni recently rescued the twins from a pond at Omutundungu village after the children were allegedly thrown into the water by their mother. Following the incident, Monarch Lifeguard announced that Shimwafeni and his family had accepted a ‘Heroic Bravery Reward Certificate’ together with a free beginner and junior lifeguard training programme.
