With youth unemployment remaining one of Namibia’s biggest challenges, financial institutions are increasingly stepping in to help graduates gain the workplace experience needed to secure jobs. The World Bank estimates that 38.1% of Namibians aged between 15 and 24 were unemployed in 2025, while the government has set a target of increasing youth employment to 70% by 2030 under the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6)

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah recently announced that the government will expand apprenticeship, internship and graduate internship programmes under the National Programme for Employment Creation as part of the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6) for 2025-2030.
In support of this, Nedbank Namibia has taken in 15 graduates and interns through its Graduate Training and Internship Programme, placing them in different departments across the bank.
