Windhoek mayor Sackarias Uunona says the municipality has sanctioned a total of 20 sites where informal traders may operate temporarily.

The sanctioning of the sites is part of the implementation of the approved market development master plan. The temporary trading sites will need to operate under minimum hygienic conditions, pending the formalisation of these markets with more permanent facilities.
He revealed this when he delivered his mayoral speech during the latest Ordinary Council meeting in the capital.
