Botswana’s minister of transport and infrastructure Noah Salakae has announced his resignation from Cabinet in Parliament, saying he is stepping aside to face corruption allegations levelled against him, The Argus Online reported.

Salakae, however, made it clear that his resignation is in no way an admission of guilt. He says he will now face the allegations while outside Cabinet.
Salakae has been spearheading many projects including the Trans Kalahari Railway, the expansion of Botswana’s dry port at Walvis Bay, as well as many other projects within Botswana and in collaboration with neighbouring countries.
