Namibian pop artist Rigaud Ashton Beukes, known professionally as Rigaud, who was born and raised in Rehoboth, has learned to embrace his identity while using music as a medium for storytelling and for creating authentic pop music that reflects who he is.

Beukes is on a mission to put himself out there in an industry dominated by rap and kwaito.
A distinctive detail about the singer is his name. While Rigaud is of French origin and traditionally pronounced ‘Rigou’, his family has always pronounced it ‘Regard’.
He laughs at the difference.
