THE City of Windhoek has announced an average 4% increase in municipal tariffs for the 2026/2027 financial year, effective from 1 July 2026, saying the adjustments are necessary to support the continued provision and maintenance of essential services and infrastructure.

According to the City’s Tariffs 2026/2027 booklet, the increases will affect several municipal services, including water, refuse and waste management, sewerage, fire brigade services and property assessment rates.
