What was once a neglected tourism asset has now become a vibrant pillar of community development and conservation in Namibia.

The Granietkop Campsite, located within the Doro !Nawas Conservancy, has undergone a remarkable transformation, generating income, creating jobs, and strengthening local efforts to conserve biodiversity.
The campsite, which had been closed for nearly 20 years, was revitalized in 2024 through a collaborative effort funded by Ultimate Earth, the nonprofit Conservation Travel Foundation, and the Community Conservation Fund of Namibia (CCFN).
