Tkmoams: Oneshila’s beacon of hope

ONGWEDIVA – For nearly three decades, Tkmoams has quietly transformed lives in Oneshila location in Oshakati East.

It has provided care, protection and opportunities to thousands of vulnerable children and families while serving as a vital support system for communities affected by poverty and other social challenges.

Established in 1996, the non-profit organisation has grown from an initiative focused on assisting people affected by HIV/AIDS into a community centre that offers a wide range of social services, including childcare, education support, counselling, nutrition programmes and skills development.

Hope

Co-founder Diana Shilongo told New Era that the organisation has restored hope and improved the quality of life of more than 25 000 vulnerable families since it opened its doors.

“We work closely with those affected by HIV/AIDS, orphans and vulnerable children. Under our Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) programme, we provide quality care and support. The programme provides education, food and nutrition to over 200 children,” she said.
