Toini Hausiku: Namibia remembers selfless servant

Namibians from all walks of life are united in grief, paying tribute and celebrating the life and times of Toini Mwahangange Hausiku.

She died on Sunday.

Leading the tributes, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah described her and her late husband as steadfast patriots whose legacy of unity should continue to guide Namibia’s pursuit of economic emancipation.

Nandi-Ndaitwah visited the Hausiku family residence in Soweto, Katutura, to console the bereaved family following Hausiku’s death at a Windhoek hospital on Sunday. She was 72.
