The LDV T60 Utility Single Cab is making a strong affordability play in Namibia’s highly competitive bakkie market, combining a low entry price with useful load-carrying and towing capabilities. Priced at just N$299 900 for the 4×2 and N$358 900 for the 4×4, the T60 Single Cab offers small businesses, farmers, contractors and fleet operators an accessible workhorse without pushing the budget into premium-bakkie territory.

Under the bonnet of the LDV T60 is a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 120kW of power and 410Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The specification sheet lists a payload of up to 1 170kg, while towing capacity is rated at 3 000kg, giving the T60 the practical credentials expected from a commercial single-cab.

LDV Sales Executive, Junias Theophilus, explained that the vehicle is also backed by a five-year/100 000km warranty, providing reassurance to buyers who depend on their bakkies for daily income-generating work. However, the affordability comes with a straightforward ownership proposition: a service plan is not included.

“The T60 Single Cab is equipped with essentials including air conditioning, radio and Bluetooth, ABS with electronic brake-force distribution and dual airbags. It also offers Eco, Power and Normal driving modes,” said Theophilus.

The LDV bakkie measures 5.395 metres in length, with a load bin measuring 2.33 metres long by 1.51 metres wide. Depending on specification, the published payload figures range from 1 100kg to 1 170kg.

For local buyers, the pricing is arguably the T60 Single Cab’s biggest attraction. At under N$300 000 for the 4×2, it targets customers who need a capable commercial vehicle but may not have the budget for more expensive alternatives.

The 4×4 version at N$358 900 further broadens its appeal for operators who need additional traction for farm roads, construction sites and other demanding environments. There is, however, only white as an exterior colour currently available.

“With its combination of price, 410Nm of torque, 1 170kg payload capability, 3 000kg towing capacity and five-year warranty, the LDV T60 Single Cab is positioning itself as an extremely affordable working vehicle for cost-conscious Namibian businesses and private buyers,” said Theophilus.
