Many areas submerged after heavy rains in parts of India

NEW DELHI, July 5 — Incessant rains over the past few days caused floods in several areas in central, west and southwest India, while a red alert for heavy rains was sounded in New Delhi on Sunday.

At least four people had died in rains-related incidents in the country’s financial capital Mumbai, according to local media reports.
