Migration affects national security, border management, investment, employment, tourism, family life, education, public health, regional integration and the dignity of persons who enter, reside in, or depart from Namibia.

This is according to home affairs and immigration minister Lucia Iipumbu, while addressing the closing of discussion around the Migration Bill in the capital yesterday.
The consultations were attended by various stakeholders in the immigration, safety and security fraternity, as well as members of the public. Iipumbu also highlighted the importance for a law of this nature to be inspired by the people.
