GIBEON – Fifteen vulnerable households in Gibeon now have access to electricity, following a public-private partnership spearheaded by Vice President Lucia Witbooi and funded by Debmarine Namibia.

The project costs more than N$200 000.
Officially handed over on Friday, it also included the installation of Aerial Bundled Cable (ABC) networks and public street lighting in the Sunrise informal settlement, laying the groundwork for future household electrification in the area.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Witbooi described the development as “a defining milestone” for the historic village.
