Shivute builds spice business from health struggles

OSHAKATI – What began as a personal effort to improve her health has grown into a thriving spice business for 37-year-old Oshakati entrepreneur Taimi Shivute.

Shivute said her journey into the spice industry started in her backyard garden after she was diagnosed with gastric problems. Concerned about her health and the quality of food she consumed, she began growing her own herbs and vegetables at home. “I used to eat a lot of unhealthy food, so I decided to start growing my own herbs and vegetables to help improve my health. As my harvest increased, I saw an opportunity and developed the idea of producing my own food spices,” she explained.
