Chinese companies are preparing to explore investment opportunities in Namibia following President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s recent state visit to China, with manufacturing and agriculture emerging as priority sectors for cooperation.

Addressing a media briefing in Windhoek yesterday, China’s Ambassador to Namibia, Zhao Weiping, said the visit had elevated bilateral relations to unprecedented levels and renewed confidence among Chinese investors.

“The relationship between China and Namibia has become stronger than before. This visit has further stimulated the ‘go-to-invest in Namibia’ enthusiasm in the Chinese business community. We are able to see a lot of the companies whom the President met in China coming to Namibia in the near future,” he said.
