EENHANA – After months of struggling with depleted condom supplies at public health facilities, the ministry of health says the shortage has finally been resolved, with enough stock now available to meet demand across the country.

The announcement comes after health facilities in several regions reported running out of condoms earlier this year, forcing some clinics and hospitals to ration supplies while others had none. The shortage raised concerns among healthcare workers, who warned it could undermine efforts to prevent HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unplanned pregnancies.
Speaking during a visit to health facilities in the Ohangwena region on Tuesday, including Engela District Hospital and Eenhana District Hospital, Deputy Minister of Health Susan Ndjaleka assured health workers that sufficient supplies had now been distributed.
