Following a postponement yesterday, the defence in the trial of a man accused of murdering his domestic partner with a knife is set to begin leading their evidence today in the Windhoek High Court.

The accused, Immanuel Venonja (25), was set to testify yesterday. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the matter will start today.
Venonja faces one count of murder read with the provisions of the Combating of Domestic Violence Act.
He has since pleaded not guilty to the charge and denied stabbing former romantic partner and mother of his child, Elisabeth Uwu-Khaes, in the back with a knife, leading to her death.
