The first quarter of 2026 marked a period of notable growth and resilience within Namibia’s livestock and livestock products industry, according to the latest Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia (LLPBN) industry report.
The livestock sector demonstrated significant expansion, with cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and poultry registering notable growth.

Growth amidst export expansion
Cattle marketing surged by nearly 20%, with a total of 52 975 head traded in the first quarter of this year, up from 44 266 heads during the same period last year.
Month-on-month analysis showed volumes increasing by 15.7%, from 19 035 heads in February to 22 015 in March.
