KATIMA MULILO – Chief of the Mayeyi Traditional Authority (MTA) Shikati Boniface Lutibezi Shufu described their annual gathering as a renewal of the covenant between the past, the current generation, and the generations to come.

In a speech delivered on his behalf by MTA spokesperson Walters Kamaya at the Batshara Annual Cultural Festival at Sangwali on Sunday, he stated that the festival remains one of the most vital events on the Mayeyi community calendar.
Celebrated under the theme ‘Our Rivers, Our Life, Our Heritage,’ the chief noted that this focus resonates deeply with the identity of the Mayeyi people.
