MUPAPAMA – Along the banks of the Kavango River, some 55km east of Rundu, an agricultural revolution is quietly taking root.
On a small piece of land in Mupapama, Ernest Sirefwe (34), the founder and mastermind behind EG Freshway Farming, is rewriting the script for local food production.
For five straight years, Sirefwe has kept a steady crop rotation going, supplying a demanding local market while also working as an irrigation consultant. His story highlights both the Kavango region’s vast untapped agricultural potential and the daily systemic challenges facing local agribusinesses.
