NAMIBIA’S energy ambitions are gaining momentum, with the Government confirming that it holds a 24% equity stake in the Hyphen Green Hydrogen Project through the Sovereign Wealth Fund, while developments in uranium exploration and downstream petroleum are further reshaping the country’s energy landscape.

Beyond green hydrogen, Namibia is also expanding its energy ambitions through uranium exploration in the Omaheke Region, aligning with a broader continental trend towards nuclear energy. Meanwhile, the US$50 million acquisition of 52 service stations by Nasan Energies marks a milestone for local industry, establishing the firm as the nation’s third-largest oil marketing company and highlighting the growing role of indigenous companies in managing strategic national energy assets.
Namibia holds a 24% equity stake in the Hyphen Green Hydrogen Project through the Sovereign Wealth Fund, with the Government’s shareholding managed by the Environmental Investment Fund (EIF), officials have confirmed.
