New figures released yesterday by the Namibia Cyber Security Incident Response Team (NAM-CSIRT), housed under the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN), show cyber vulnerabilities rose by 39.8% during the second quarter of 2026, while cyber incidents jumped 56.7%.

Between April and June, 513 921 vulnerabilities and 161 547 cyber events were detected across the country. The report warns that many organisations continue to expose their computer systems to the internet, making them easy targets for hackers.
