Omaruru mayor pushes for new TVET centre

Omaruru mayor Eberth Edison Gariseb said the planned technical and vocational education and training (TVET) centre in the town could create opportunities for young people by equipping them with the skills needed for employment and entrepreneurship.

Speaking to New Era, Gariseb said vocational training facilities play an important role in addressing youth unemployment by providing practical skills that respond to industry needs and create pathways into the job market.

He, however, warned that development projects with the potential to transform communities should not be delayed by lengthy bureaucracy.
