OSHAKATI – The Oshakati Town Council launched its new Traffic Law Enforcement Unit yesterday, aimed at promoting responsible road-user behaviour, protecting lives, improving traffic flow, and ensuring the town remains safe, orderly, and well-managed for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
The launch marks a historic milestone for northern Namibia, as the Oshakati Town Council becomes the first local authority in the region to establish a Traffic Law Enforcement Unit.
The department has been equipped with three vehicles and three traffic officers, who will be responsible for enforcing traffic laws in the town.
