The long-running corruption case against six Zambezi Regional Council officials has hit another setback after prosecutors provisionally withdrew the matter at the Windhoek High Court.
The matter, which concerns alleged corruption involving more than N$4 million in capital projects in the Kongola constituency, was withdrawn on Wednesday.
The six officials are accused of allegedly abusing their positions for personal benefit in dealings involving more than N$4 million in capital projects in the Kongola constituency.

They also face a conspiracy charge under the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Act.
The case involves former Zambezi chief regional officer Regina Ndopu-Lubinda, planning and rural development director Beaven Walubita, deputy director Cletius Mubita, chief development planner Daniel Mbala, deputy director for administration Abraham Shikoyeni and chief accountant Nimrod Lichela.
The case was previously provisionally withdrawn in the Katima Mulilo Regional Court in October 2024.
Wednesday’s development therefore marked the second provisional withdrawal of the case.
The accused have not been convicted of the alleged offences.
