Life sentence for brother’s killer

A man convicted of murdering his brother by stabbing him in the chest with a knife has been sentenced to life imprisonment.

The sentencing was served to Riaan Andrew van Wyk (46) last Friday in the Windhoek Prison Court by High Court by Judge Dinnah Usiku.

Van Wyk was convicted of murder and another count of attempted murder, both read with the provisions of the Combating of Domestic Violence Act.

It was alleged that Van Wyk, on 13 November 2021 in Rehoboth, murdered his biological brother, Frederik van Wyk (51), by stabbing him with a knife.

Frederik died on the scene.
