‘Give 30 years to girlfriend strangler’

State advocate Sakaria Kuutondokwa has urged the court to sentence Johannes Bock (21) to 30 years imprisonment for the murder of his then 17-year-old girlfriend in 2023.

According to the advocate, during pre-sentencing submissions last Thursday, Bock stood convicted of a very serious offence which is prevalent in every corner of the country, with no signs of waning.

Kuutondokwa submitted that “cases of murder occurring in domestic settings have reached an alarming crisis point.”

As such, society looks upon the courts to pass befitting sentences, sentences that send a message not only to the accused but also to would-be offenders that any form of violence will never be tolerated.
