The Ministry of Health and Social Services has received and distributed another 33 categories of critically needed medicines and clinical supplies as government continues efforts to restore medicine availability across public health facilities and strengthen the national pharmaceutical supply chain.

The ministry’s Acting Executive Director Theo-Ben Kandetu said the latest consignments received between 18 June and 1 July 2026 form part of ongoing efforts to address immediate medicine shortages while implementing bulk procurement strategies to stabilise the national supply chain over the medium and long term.
“The ministry is actively working to procure and distribute urgently needed medicines and clinical supplies. Our primary objective is to address immediate stock shortages for critical medicines while simultaneously implementing bulk procurement strategies to stabilise the national supply chain over the medium and long term,” Kandetu said.
