Staff Reporter THE national rail operator, TransNamib, has announced receipt of the independent investigation report into the Rovos Rail passenger train derailment incident that occurred on 1 March 2026 south of Keetmanshoop, Namibia, which claimed the lives of two people. The luxury passenger train derailed after rains had washed away sections of the track, with TransNamib at the time being accused of negligence due to the alleged failure to inspect rail lines in the remote southern parts of the country. TransNamib is, however, yet to share the findings of the report.
