Officially opening the event, Walvis Bay Mayor Cllr Johannes Shimbilinga said career fairs are more than just exhibitions. He described them as bridges between young people’s dreams and real opportunities by connecting learners with employers, training institutions and industry leaders. The mayor encouraged learners to use the opportunity to ask questions, explore different career choices and learn more about the qualifications and skills needed for their future careers. He highlighted the importance of preparing for emerging industries such as oil and gas and green hydrogen, which are expected to create new employment opportunities in the Erongo Region.
