The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) launched the Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEA) Monitoring and Reporting Online Platform earlier this week.

The initiative has been established through the Namibia Integrated Landscape Approach for Enhancing Livelihoods and Environmental Governance to Eradicate Poverty (NILALEG) Project, implemented by the MEFT in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to the tune of N$12 million.

Speaking at the launch, environment minister Indileni Daniel, said the event marked an important step in improving how Namibia gathers information, measures progress and reports on its environmental commitments.
