PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has paid tribute to the legacy of Ombara Kahimemua Nguvauva during the commemoration of the 130th anniversary of his execution in Okahandja, calling on Namibians to uphold unity, reject division, and strengthen nation-building as the country reflects on its liberation history.
The commemoration was held in the Otjozondjupa Region at Okahandja, marking the 130th anniversary of the Battle of Otjunda (Sturmfeld), which led to the execution of the first Ovambanderu Chief, Ombara Kahimemua Nguvauva “Hiakungairi” on 12 June 1896.
