Being a public servant for more than 29 years, she says education is more than a career for her. It is a calling, a family legacy and a lifelong commitment to serving Namibia’s children.

Her journey has taken her from standing in front of a classroom to providing strategic leadership for the education sector in an entire region.
“Teaching is the only profession I have ever known and education has truly become part of my DNA,” she said.
From classroom teacher to deputy director
Wantenaar’s journey began as a teacher at Schmelenville Combined School in Bethanie, //Kharas region.
