JOHANNES Bock, a 21-year-old man from the Hardap Region, has been sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment for the murder of his 18-year-old girlfriend, whom he strangled to death.

High Court Judge Claudia Claasen, who handed down the sentence, said that three years of the 18-year sentence are suspended for a period of five years, provided that the accused does not commit a similar offence during that period.
