Humphrey rewrites Namibian swimming history … four records at Commonwealth Games

Namibian swimming sensation Jessica Humphrey continued her remarkable rise on the international stage after delivering a record-breaking performance at the Commonwealth Games, where she shattered a long-standing national record in the Women’s 50metre (m) Butterfly.

Humphrey produced a sensational swim in the heats yesterday, finishing first in Heat 5 of 9 with a new personal best time of 26.33 seconds. Her performance also saw her break a Namibian record that had stood since 1996, marking another historic milestone in her young career. Although the 17-year-old did not progress to the final, her performance at the Games has been nothing short of exceptional, with the swimmer rewriting the national record books on multiple occasions.

During the Commonwealth Games campaign, Humphrey has broken four Namibian records, including: Women’s 50m Butterfly in a time of 26.33 seconds. This is a new Namibian national record (breaking a record that stood since 1996).
