THE European Union (EU) has shed clarification on its process of removing countries from its Financial Crime Monitoring jurisdiction (AML/CTF list) following Namibia’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list in June 2026.
The FATF identifies jurisdictions with weak measures to combat money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT) in two FATF public documents that are issued three times a year. Whilst Namibia exited the FATF grey list, it remains placed on the EU’s financial crime monitoring jurisdiction list.
