The Namibia Competition Commission (NaCC) has formally launched an investigation into alleged anti-competitive practices involving tourism concessions and joint ventures in the country, following concerns over market access, operating restrictions and the structure of agreements between conservancies and private operators.

NaCC Director for enforcement, exemptions and cartels Paulus Hangula said the investigation follows a complaint lodged in September 2024 alleging anti-competitive agreements between various conservancies and a private operator.
Copies of the agreements were submitted to the commission in support of the allegations.
