20 million feasibility study underway to revive national airline – Nekundi

Staff Reporter THE Minister of Works and Transport, Veikko Nekundi, has said that the Namibian government has budgeted about N$20 million for a feasibility study which aims to revive the national airline, Air Namibia. Air Namibia was placed into voluntary liquidation in February 2021 due to insurmountable debts exceeding N$5 billion and years of unsustainable government subsidies. In response to questions in Parliament by Nelson Kalangula on the possible revitalisation of a national airline, Nekundi said that as leaders of this country, just as in other countries around the world, we must know what to publish and when to publish.
