Team Namibia received a morale-boosting visit from senior government and sporting leaders ahead of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, reaffirming the nation’s unwavering support for its athletes.

The delegation was led by Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Dr Sanet Steenkamp, accompanied by Namibia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E. Veiccoh K. Nghiwete, and Namibia National Olympic Committee (NNOC) President Dr. Ndeulipula Hamutumwa. The visit underscored the strong backing Team Namibia enjoys from both government and the sporting fraternity as the athletes prepare to march under the national flag at the opening ceremony before beginning their respective campaigns. Meeting with the athletes and technical officials in Glasgow, the leaders offered words of encouragement and inspiration as Team Namibia prepares to compete on one of the world’s biggest multi-sport stages.
