OPUWO – The Governor of the Kunene region, Vipuakuje Muharukua, said the Division of Marginalised Communities continued to support vulnerable and destitute households, particularly among the Ovatue and Ovatjimba communities.
He said that through the Special Feeding Programme, monthly food rations are provided to 2 354 beneficiaries in the Outjo, Kamanjab and Epupa constituencies.
He noted that these rations go a long way in eliminating hunger and are also part of government’s efforts to curb social ills, exploitation and extreme poverty.

Muharukua made these remarks yesterday during the State of the Region Address in Opuwo.
Traditional leaders, community members and leaders from various town councils gathered to listen to the governor’s address.
The governor said the division also provides transport assistance to 302 learners from rural areas in the Outjo and Epupa constituencies.
