Windhoek High Court Acting Judge Herman January is expected to hear evidence next month in aggravation and mitigation proceedings before an appropriate sentence is handed to murder accused Patrick Geingob (43).
This follows his order yesterday for the matter to proceed to pre-sentencing proceedings from 13 to 14 July 2026.

Geingob was convicted late last month for the murder of his wife, Merentha Geingos, whom he stabbed with a kitchen knife at least 12 times in their matrimonial home in Okuryangava on 14 April 2019.
He was convicted of murder with direct intent, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and common assault.
He, however, was acquitted on a charge of defeating or obstructing the course of justice.
