The agriculture sector in the Otjozondjupa region continued to play a vital role in supporting livelihoods and enhancing food security during the 2025/2026 financial year, regional governor John //Khamuseb said during his recent State of the Region Address (SORA).
Highlighting the sector’s achievements, //Khamuseb said: “The agriculture sector continued to play a critical role in sustaining livelihoods and strengthening food security in our region.”

A total of 3 569 households benefitted from subsidised agricultural inputs under the Dry Land Crop Production Programme and the Namibia Agricultural Mechanisation Support Programme (NAMSIP).
Additionally, 682 households accessed mechanised services covering 1 517 hectares through activities such as ploughing, ripping, planting and weeding.
