Planned Von Bach water shutdown moved to June 5

Staff Reporter A PLANNED water supply interruption at Namibia Water Corporation Ltd’s (NamWater) Von Bach Treatment Plant has been rescheduled to Friday, 05 June 2026, following a request by NamPower, with several key customers including the City of Windhoek and Okahandja Municipality expected to be affected during the outage. NamWater said the interruption is necessary to accommodate NamPower’s scheduled power outage at the Von Bach Treatment Plant, which will run from 07:00 to 18:00 on 05 June 2026. The work will involve extending the 11kV and 66kV busbar to a mobile substation, requiring full station isolation.
