South African tourism minister Patricia de Lille opened Africa’s Travel Indaba with the traditional ringing of a bell at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban on Tuesday. The African leisure trade show brings together tourism sector stakeholders from across the globe for three days of networking, business development, ideas exchange and celebration. The theme for this year’s Indaba is ‘Unlimited Africa’, with the mantra of ‘Shaping Africa’s Tomorrow, Through Connection Today’.

“As Africans, together, we will craft a narrative that tells our story in our own words, sharing with the world the unique contributions we bring to the global tourism community,” said De Lille. “I am looking forward to coming together with as many of you as possible and for us to learn from each other, challenging stereotypes and promoting a more tolerant and inclusive society.”
