President calls for unity, cultural preservation at revived Masubia Cultural Festival

PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on Namibians to preserve their cultural heritage while promoting national unity, youth empowerment and economic development, saying the country’s diverse cultures should remain a source of strength rather than division.

The President made the remarks on Saturday during the Masubia Cultural Festival in Bukalo, Zambezi Region, held under the theme “Preserving Our Cultural Heritage, Celebrating Our Future.”

Addressing traditional leaders, government officials and community members, Nandi-Ndaitwah congratulated Munitenga Gilbert Muhongo Mutwe, Moraliswani III, on his ascension as Chief of the Masubia Traditional Authority and wished him success in leading the community.

She also paid tribute to the late Chief Kisco Liswani III, who led the Masubia community until his death five years ago, describing his leadership as one that advanced peace, unity and nation-building.
