Slain woman’s family rejects sentence … killer husband gets 25-years behind bars

Seven years after the death of a loving mother, caring sister and cherished friend, her family says they are still living with the pain of her brutal killing at the hands of the man who was once her closest partner.

It was a chilly night between 13 and 14 April 2019 in Okuryangava, when a teacher, Patrick Geingob (45), reportedly grappling with depression and emotional turmoil, returned to the family home he shared with his wife, Merentha Geingos and their three children.

Unlike the familiar greeting expected from the head of house returning home, he arrived intoxicated, shouting and demanding that the door be opened, showing no restraint for his family being disturbed.

Unbeknownst to Geingos, who was at the other side of the door preparing for bed with her children, the night would prove to be her last, leaving behind three traumatised children and a family whose grief endures to this day.

Upon entering the house and being questioned about his late arrival, Geingob, Judge Herman January found, went straight to the kitchen, rummaged through the utensils and proceeded directly to their bedroom.
