NAMIBIAN rhythmic gymnast Emilia Ekandjo competed at the 42nd Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Frankfurt, Germany, finishing 91st overall in the individual qualifications after competing across all four apparatus.
The championships were held from 12 to 16 August 2026, with Ekandjo recording an all-around total of 49.900 points. She did not advance to any of the apparatus finals or the all-around final.
Ekandjo scored 16.450 points in the hoop, 12.000 in the ball, 15.800 in the clubs and 17.650 in the ribbon.

She competed in the ribbon and clubs events during the championships, delivering a particularly strong performance in the ribbon event.
Her representatives said Ekandjo had shown passion, determination and hard work throughout the competition, while making significant improvements to her routines compared with last year’s World Championships.
“Overall, Emilia has made so many improvements in her routines since last year’s World Championships, and we couldn’t be prouder of her progress and dedication,” they said.
Ekandjo’s participation in Frankfurt saw her proudly represent Namibia on the world stage, with supporters praising her commitment and progress in rhythmic gymnastics.
“Emilia proudly represents Namibia, with her hoop as her armour and determination in her hands. What a beautiful moment of pride,” the Namibian Gymnastics Federation said.
