GOBABIS – A thoroughbred horse named Pee Jay won the inaugural Miss Namibia Challenge Cup staged at Gobabis Turf on Saturday in the Omaheke region.
The competition organised by the Epukiro Horse Racing Club (EHRC), was aimed at celebrating the Miss Teen and Miss Namibia pageants for being held for the first time in the Omaheke region.
Pee Jay, owned by Saki Burger, clinched the first position of the competition’s main plate, which was the 2400 metres (m) of the A/Division, where it left behind its strong competitor Woodland Ridge of Junius Racing (JR) in second place while Otjinene Supporters Club’s Equerry sealed the third position in a high-profile race.
