Pensioners among 14 arrested for Etosha National Park poaching

Two pensioners are among the 14 men arrested in connection with the poaching of seven rhinos in the Etosha National Park, and one at a nearby farm. Omusati regional police commander commissioner Ismael Basson confirmed the arrests this week. Among those arrested are Thomas Jafet (66), also known as ‘Familia’, and Timoteus Amuthenu (60).

They were apprehended on 22 April. Another suspect, Andreas Shanghala (35), is from Oshuukwa village in the Okahao constituency of the Omusati region. Ndeulikusa Kunasha (56) is from Onheleiwa village in the Etayi constituency.
