National table tennis sensation Liàn Gebauer is widely regarded as one of Namibia’s brightest female prospects, having established herself as a dominant force across both the junior and senior women’s local circuit.
Born and raised in Windhoek, the young table tennis player was first introduced to the sport while attending Deutsche Höhere Privatschule (DHPS). Her journey began in grade five when she discovered a table tennis table on the school’s new playground.
“I started playing at the playground on a cement table tennis table with my bread box lid. From there, we joined the school team and thereafter I joined my current club, Wanderers,” she said.
